Joseph Lee

Joseph Lee (pronouns: he/his) is a blind third-year organizational communication PhD student at University of Colorado Boulder. His research and teaching intersect communication, technology, and disability, focusing on the communicative dimensions of software source code and its development as well as individual and organizational discussions of technology accessibility. Joseph is a globally recognized screen reader expert with more than ten years’ experience contributing to NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) screen reader project, with expertise in screen reader history and documentation, software accessibility testing, and collaboration between screen reader developers and software vendors to improve mainstream app accessibility. He is also an accomplished collegiate speech and debate competitor with numerous local, regional, and national awards, and is a recipient of 2025 Marinus Smith Award administered by New Student and Family Programs at ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ·.
