Positive Q4 outlook for Colorado economy thanks to new businesses, federal labs

One of the greatest strengths of the University of Colorado Boulder's research enterprise isÌýits collaborative relationship with local businesses and laboratories, both federal and private. ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· has been an integral part of anÌýexciting and productive quarter for Colorado's economy,Ìýwith continued year-over-year growth in new business filings and an overall positive outlook forÌýboth the end of the year and the first quarter of 2018, according toÌýtheÌýLeeds Business Confidence Index (LBCI).

Additionally, aÌýnewÌýreport from theÌýÌýhas found that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), a federal laboratory that regularly works in partnership with ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· through joint institute ,Ìýadded nearly $2 billion in combined economic contributions across Colorado and MarylandÌýin fiscal year 2016-2017.
