- The AB Nexus program announced its 2024 seed grant awards to interdisciplinary research teams from the Boulder and Anschutz campuses. Collectively, the winning teams will receive $713,000 in funding to advance cutting-edge research that improves human health and well-being.
- Chancellor Justin Schwartz has announced several actions to further establish ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· as a global leader in sustainability. The university will partner with Pivot Energy to add 5 megawatts of solar energy to the local grid and is committing tax credit savings to campus decarbonization efforts.
- ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Ʒ’s Conference Services is set to accommodate the National Order of the Arrow for six days starting July 29. The large-scale event will fill 6,000 campus beds, 500 local hotel rooms and 170 campus event spaces.
- Uniformed ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· police officers and residential service officers are now allowed to wear cowboy hats. The Stetson style, which is optional, offers extra protection from the elements.
- Through Aug. 1, the CU Board of Regents is accepting nominations for the 2025 honorary degrees, university medals and distinguished service awards.

- Students from the CU in Space club took part in the NASA University Student Launch Challenge, earning multiple awards in the competition.
- Distinguished Professor Dan Scheeres has been named a NASA participating scientist on the European Space Agency’s Hera mission. He is one of 12 individuals announced for the space probe mission, which is scheduled to launch in October 2024.
- Congresswoman Yadira Caraveo dipped into all things quantum during her first official visit to ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· and JILA. The campus conversation emphasized the critical role of ongoing federal support in quantum research and innovation.
- New federal and state funding will support Elevate Quantum, of which ÍÃ×ÓÏÈÉú´«Ã½ÎÄ»¯×÷Æ· is a key partner, in its efforts to create more than 10,000 jobs and educate 30,000 workers over the next decade.
