- RIO Faculty Fellows identifies and develops tenured and tenure-track assistant or associate professors who are poised to lead significant collaborative projects, develop vision and deliver novel and impactful scholarly work. Applications for the 2023 cohort will be accepted through October 21. Selections will be announced in November.

- The University of Colorado Boulder has named Dr. Lori Hunter director of its聽Institute of Behavioral Science (IBS), which applies leading edge social and behavioral science to inform and influence policies and actions with a national and international聽impact.
- A new cooperative institute, formally designated the Cooperative Institute for Earth System Research and Data Science, will conduct collaborative research in support of NOAA鈥檚 mission to understand and predict Earth鈥檚 changing environment, from the deep sea to the outer edge of the atmosphere.
